Retirement Benefits payable from Age 55

As a lifetime police pension, adjusted twice annually (April and October) in line with the Consumer Price Index (for Adelaide).  Preserved members have the option to commute any amount of the pension payable at Age 55, up to 100 percent into a lump sum payment.

A preserved police pension is payable from Age 55 irrespective of whether the member has retired from the work force or not.

Total and Permanent Invalidity Benefits

Payable as a lifetime police pension, adjusted twice annually (April and October) in line with the Consumer Price Index (for Adelaide).  Members have the option to commute part of the pension into a lump sum payment depending on their age at the date of payment.

Death Benefit - Spouse

Payable to a surviving spouse (lawful, eligible de facto or putative) as a lifetime pension, adjusted twice annually (April and October) in line with the Consumer Price Index (for Adelaide). A spouse has the option to commute any amount of pension up to 100 percent into a lump sum payment.

Death Benefit - Child

Payable to an eligible child as a pension, adjusted twice annually (April and October) in line with the Consumer Price Index (for Adelaide).

Death Benefit - Estate

Payable to the estate of a deceased member, as a lump sum, in the event there is no benefit payable to a surviving spouse.
